Dan's passion is the sport of
hunting. Whether it is deer, turkey, bear or mountain lion, from
his youngest years he has loved the outdoors and the adventure
it brings. The oldest of 5 brothers who all love hunting, Dan
has spent many, many hours in the outdoors.

Dan was blessed with
his talent for art. He has always loved
wildlife and would spend hours creating pen and ink drawings of
deer, turkey or Western game. It only seemed natural that upon
graduation, he should attend Community College of the Finger
Lakes majoring in Taxidermy. He graduated from CCFL in 1989 and
then began doing taxidermy part time while working construction
full time. |
|
|
Upon moving to Ohio in 1994 he then started attending taxidermy
competitions and continued learning new techniques to improve
his already obvious talent. In 1996 he opened Dan Clark's
Taxidermy full time. He has continued competing at the Ohio
State Taxidermy Competition bringing home ribbons and trophies.
Among these are Best of Category, People's Choice, Judges'
Choice Best Game Head, Judges' Choice Best of Show, and Judges'
Choice Most Artistic.
Dan's goal in doing
taxidermy is not to just mount an animal, but to create a life
like interpretation of your trophy. Whether it be a Dall sheep
climbing down a rock or a turkey gobbling from a roost, he wants
you to see his creation and remember what it was like to "be
there." |
